No one’s life adheres to a single genre of story. We all of us skip from style to style, often in the course of a single day, and often in a variety of roles. We can be the main character, or the surprising cameo appearance, or the extra. We can be the hero, the villain, the love interest, the comic relief sidekick. In every city, in every town no matter how small, nearly every genre and every role is playing out somewhere for someone. Here a romantic comedy, there a tragedy. In this home, a coming of age story. On that back street, a crime drama. There’s a spy thriller, a horror film, even science fiction, depending on where you look.

CENTERFIELD is the story of a town and its people. Or rather, Centerfield is the stories of a town and its people. Some of those people are good. Some are evil. Most are somewhere in between. Some find themselves in the thrall of vast, incomprehensible forces. Others are simply trying to make a human connection to a friend, a coworker, a crush. All of them are just trying go get by, whether their situation involves where to go on a Saturday night or how to manage a rift in the very fabric of reality.

Everyone is the main character, and no one is. Punks and weirdos, hicks and rednecks, department store clerks and theoretical physicists and local gigolos and small town killers. Occasionally Bigfoot.

Centerfield is an anthology of stories, some tightly connected, others barely grazing the tangential edge. It’s adaptable as a television series or a series of films, the connection between each malleable. It spans genres and generations to explore the lives of people in the face of events both mundane and extraordinary.
